Obituary

Mary Daniels of La Pine passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at the age of 77.

Mary was born on May 10, 1940, in Oregon City, Oregon to William “Ed” and Mary (Bruechert) Tripp. There she grew up with four sisters and one brother - her oldest sister died as an infant. A couple of years after graduating from Oregon City High School, Mary married Reginald Ryder in Jennings Lodge, Oregon. Mary loved to roller skate at Oaks Park and was a member of their Social Club. Both she and Reg enjoyed spending time together bowling in leagues. She was blessed with their son, Michael, and 17 years of marriage before Reg passed away.

In 1980, Mary met and married Roy Daniels in Vancouver, Washington. Just 10 short years later, after moving to La Pine, Roy passed away. For more than twenty years, Mary was a very passionate hospice volunteer for Newberry Hospice in La Pine. She helped organize events, and gave nurturing care to the hospice patients. She was also a foster parent, and a member of the Lions Club.

Mary is survived by her son Michael Ryder; one sister Catherine “Cathy” Gideon of Portland, OR; sister-in-law, Janet Tripp of Happy Valley, OR; three nieces Margo Heater, Paula Bisceglia, and Catherine Bristow; five nephews Gary Tripp, Craig Tripp, Allan Hull, Jeff Hull, and Martin Gideon; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both her husbands; her parents; three sisters Mary Margaret Tripp, Phyllis Finley, and Wilma Hull; brother, William “Bill” Tripp, Jr.; and one brother-in-law, Ben Gideon.
