Marian Lucile “Grandma” Lozier died peacefully at her home on February 3, 2018, at the age of 96.
Marian was born in Redmond, Oregon, on January 27, 1922, to Thad and Theresa (Wever) Dizney. She married Vance Lozier in Oakland, California, on May 12, 1945. She and Vance had 4 children; all girls.
Marian worked as an Accountant in Washington, DC, Portland, Oregon, and for the Federal Government in Crescent, Oregon. She helped to start the La Pine Christian Center and was a founding member and leader in Women’s Ministries. Marian was a member of the La Pine Senior Center, wrote all grants for the new Senior Center on Huntington Road in La Pine, and started The Quilting Club. Marian also volunteered for the Forest Service.
Marian is survived by her daughters; Sharon Gillespie (husband Donald) of Aloha, Oregon, Trish Holmes (husband John) of Forest Grove, Oregon, Colleen Lozier of La Pine, Oregon, Susan Hughes of Beaverton, Oregon; as well as 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous “adopted” kids and grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Vance Lozier; sister Marvel; brother Timothy; and 2 grandsons, Shane Lozier and Jason Gillespie.
