Philis Ludlam Gold, 92, passed away on January 6, 2018 in Bend, OR. Philis, who was known to her friends as “Pete” was born in San Francisco on March 16, 1925. She graduated from Stanford University with a BA in English in 1946. She married S. Kendall Gold in 1948. They lived in Rye, NY until 1954, and then spent 7 wonderful years in London, England. They moved to Greenwich in 1961.

Pete was an active volunteer at Greenwich Hospital for over 50 years. In recent years she volunteered at the hospital with her Certified Therapy Dog, Caesar, a wonderful and loving Yorkshire Terrier.
Pete’s other volunteer activities included, President, Brunswick Parent Teachers Group; President, Episcopal Church Women of Christ Church; Secretary, Christ Church Alter Guild; Vice-Chairman, Friends of the Greenwich Library; Chairman, Red Cross Ball. She was a member of The Milbrook Club and Indian Harbor Yacht Club.

Pete was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, S. Kendall Gold and her grandson, Tyler Adams. She is survived by son John Gold (Robin) Sisters, Oregon; daughter Virginia Gold Adams (Paul) Corvallis, Oregon; grandchildren Kendall Adams Bartholomew, Alexander Whiting Gold, and great granddaughter Lillian Julianna Bartholomew.

Burial arrangements are private.
